With the bus strike here, I'm pretty sure we're going to lose some lives. It's horrendous.
Some woman was on the radio this morning speaking to the host about how she saw a 60-year-old woman trying to walk in the snowy and cold weather. Apparently she had walked 20 KM, and couldn't walk anymore. I missed a part of the story here, but eventually her plan was to slowly walk back to work (where she gets $10 /hour) and just sleep there overnight and work the night shift. She gave up the idea of going home. Anyway, this woman who called in saw the older woman walking around, and made sure to give her a ride everywhere. She has decided to do this until the strike is over. The older woman calls her an "angel".
So...yeah, I'm pretty sure lives will be lost.
