I have a similar problem, but instead of "illustrator" replace with "programmer".
Now here is my thought:
I'm not a programmer, I can't do that shit, I don't like to look at code, I'm a visual guy, I need shapes, colors, Type, etcWell the truth is, we are all (that's right) WE ARE ALL replaceable.
If you don't do it, tell me one reason why your client won't go to someone else that has a similar (or better) talent and he is great doing illustration (or in my case, coding).There is always someone out there, and the more years go buy the more talented the competition gets (and younger). We've all seen that kid's (probably from eastern europe) school portfolio, his work is outstanding..
FEAR HIM.
HE IS COMING TO GET YOUR JOB.
And since he is young, he probably put more effort than you on the job.So.. start learning
