I had a letter from Sky with an enclosed letter from the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), alleging file sharing of a single
MP3. So far I've called Sky to get them to clarify the meaning of the letter as it is not clear just what they are alleging (its poorly written, doesnt clearly say if I uploaded or downloaded the file or anything actually.)... still waiting for them to get back to me with a clearer statement of what they allege.

I'm tempted to contact the BPI (who don't currently have my contact details to get them to clarify their letter which isn't clear about what they are recommending I do). I haven't shared any files, but somebody on my (public) wifi network may have. Would be interesting if the BPI tried to take me to court based on that, as running an open wifi network is not illegal, and I'm not the police, and as far as I know I am not responsible for activity on the open network (there is a precedent in Germany recently where person running an open network was found to be not responsible, but I have to check UK law to be sure...
