haha i'm just being stupid.
i've seen a few very funny women. comedians and actresses.
i guess the double standard is that while i expect men to be crude and vulgar and even retarded with poo and fart jokes, when women do it, 9 times out of 10 it's a major turn off. i'm not saying it's impossible for a woman to be funny like this and i'm not saying it's guaranteed that a man will be funny like this. i'm just saying that for my money i guess i expect something more clever and refined from a female comedian.
gender roles just make more sense for comedy i think. you should be true to your personality but also to your identity. i could make the same argument for a white guy doing an entire act of black jokes. wouldn't make sense.
- I think it's a turn-off for me either way, but, yes, more so if women do it. I like moderation.Jaline
- Comedians do stick with own gender roles, I think. Especially lesbians, hah. Most female comedians talk about their issues with men,Jaline
- with men, whereas male comedians talk about different things. Not sure if this is just b/c of the ratio or not.Jaline
