  I could guess that something like that could be offensive for people in the 1930s.

  Today, no one cares.
  We are still at war, if any one dares to say something about a photo, just ask them "what did you do today in order to help achieve world peace? look at the straight in the eye until they turn around and leave looking down in shame.
