kello, thanks for the respect...same back at you. Regardless if we disagree I don't hold anything against you or anyone else who has different views.

I am interested to know in what way you are referring to "billions may have been spared torture, death, war, poverty, oppression et al."

I imagine you may be talking about some of the reprehensible things that have been done in the name of "Christianity". Which all I can say to that is that it simply goes against everything Jesus and the Bible stand for. That is to say that these acts were carried out by people who were either completely confused and deceived, or were never really Christian. I would tie this back into similar things such as Hitler claiming to be "Christian". But I would also say that these same horrible things that you have listed have actually been carried out against Christians as well. So I guess my point is, I don't think Christianity is truly to blame for these things.

The only other thing I would like to point out is the tremendous good that Christian church has also done. I could sit here and run a long list of things, but I think you probably have at least come in contact with a Christian organization that helps the poor, or is there to help people in the aftermath of natural disasters (like with Katrina when the government failed it's own people and the church stepped in along with other non-profits) and the many other good things that can be accounted for that people often overlook.

    • Dude, you were supposed to say "I got this one."gramme
