Do a massive, destructive season where we have no idea what will happen and who will die. Surprise the hell outta us. Call the season 'End Game' (or something more original). Kill off almost everyone except a couple select people. Reboot the series. Now we can drop the poorly written 'baggage' that is starting to accumulate and bring in new characters and stories without have to tie in so much to the old stuff.
Failing that... have the series actually move into the future we saw early this season.
