I didn't think the two songs sounded very similar at all - certainly one didnt sound derivative of the other.
The coldplay song is kinda aimless 40-something driving music for sales reps, and the other, althought exquisitely performed sounded like the music that they play through the entertainment system on planes whilst everyone is boarding. Technically very accomplished in composition, performance and production, but sonically the equivalent of a 5 dollar foot long. Neither track has any fucking balls.
