I just got engaged, and it was a good 6 months of shopping before I found the perfect ring. I had it easy, my girlfriend works in Historic Preservation, so I knew I wanted a antique ring. Plus, it is recycled so its 'green', and the blood diamond issue is passe, because your not funding a new one. The one other problem is antique rings are more expensive than new manufactured ones. (Can you imagine giving your girl a ring thousands of other people at KAY are wearing, yuck!)

Personally, I am not into the new modern rings, they will be out of style in no time. So classic art deco, victorian, or edwardian was the style for me. I ended up with an art deco, with lots of filigree and platinum work on the setting.

    Best of luck mate.

    • just out of curiosity how much was that?... cause antique rings really are the way to go. beautiful choice.nicole_marie
