I started out in large format and roland offers the best printers by far. They are the most consistent and have the least amount of downtime. The color profiles are all good to. Everyone who has a sp-54 or variation (I think the vp54 is the newer) swears by Roland; and I know of a couple of printers who bought larger and faster machines and still primarily use and depend on the roland.
Oh and the Rolands do print AND cut... so I would ignore dmullin's second paragraph
