    i think its important to get your fitness up like you would if you were to take up boxing or wrestling if you decide to go for it, because as much as they like to market it as a 'small person will beat big person' system, physical ability does play a major factor still regardless of system. i.e. A big guy may be able to take a punch to the face and if you cant, it could take just one lucky hit to land you on your arse. I've seen quite advanced guys obsessed with just technique and form but put them with an relatively stronger guy with equal technical skill they get tired or crumble. Wing Chun is ideal if your not that strong it also becomes pretty nasty if you are though.
