i think his appeal is that he is not taking himself too seriously in a genuine way. Duff from Ace of Cakes is the same thing. Almost everyone else on that channel is either annoying (The Neeley's) or has a chip on their shoulder (Bobby Flay) or both (Paula frickin Deen)
