I have no idea what it's like as a non-native working in Canada, but in many cases [in Europe] once you're over the age of 31 it becomes exponentially more expensive for a company to hire/sponsor you. In order for me to get a work permit I must make a minimum of €52k.. This becomes quite limiting in the sense of what size of studio would actually deal with this, any of the good small shops can't be arsed...
