I was growing frustrated with where I am now about a year ago. I liked the folk and the pay was decent but the work was slack and I had hit a ceiling. I poked around looking for another gig and landed two offers almost right away. I didn't take either.
The conversation I had with my boss prompted an overhaul of my then position and responsibilities..and salary. They fought to keep me and I didn't expect it. What resulted was an AD job with broader scope and higher pay. The position I was close to accepting was filled but 3 months later their entire creative dept. was canned. The Creative Director left that company as well. Luck? ...meh.
Think it through.
