I wish they would stop the bail outs and focus that money on the people who would be hurt by the closures directly.
The US economy has become an old gnarled tree. It needs the large, dead limbs trimmed off from time to time so that new growth can fill out and take it's place. That's when innovation happens and economies grow, diversify and fill modern requirement. Sure the tree will be in shock in the short term, but then if will flourish better than ever.
