Sometimes designers are wankers, and sometimes they merely spend hours and hours fretting over completely inconsequential details. I suppose that's a more specific type of wankery. Things that ultimately don't matter, things that no one will ever notice. And, if on the off chance that someone does notice besides one's doting wife or mother, it's likely that the printer will totally shit up the whole operation because the client can't work press checks into the budget.
Anyone else having a bit of an existential crisis here?
