Why are hackers always ahead of software developers?

  Did id ever occur to you, software companies supported hacking?
  In many cases the ease of hacking and lack of company action against the use of hacked software played in company's favour.

  Take Macromedia Flash in Flash 4 era. If it weren't for unlicensed copies, would Flash ever get so widespread? Would it still be around? I doubt that. Why was it so easy to crack back then? Why didn't Macromedia ever come with a way to check the kosherness of published sites?

  What about these thousands of teens playing with Photoshop right now? Architecture students hacking CAD? Eventually, they will be forced to use legal versions, but they're learning to use the software, ensuring its market position for years.
