A man was found stuffed in his truck of a car. It was obvious that he had been laying there for at least few days. The hot Texas sun had made pulp of the body. The smell of course another matter. The detectives Eames and Goren was on the scene trying to figure out why this man had been murdered, even-though most claimed that he got in to the back of the trunk intent to satisfy his sexual needs through heat exhaustion and suffixation; a new crazy in Dallas.
After running through his phone records, they found a phone number which systematically called the victim's phone. The number was traced to one Jose Calles, a former Florida resident.
He said that he found a number on his girlfriend's phone and suspected that she was cheating on him. A perfect motive. When girlfriend was asked, she denied any connection with the victim but could not identify the face of the victim due to decomposition.
After longer interrogation, Jose admitted to killing and stuffing the victim in his car. He lured the victim with homosexual act and suffixation. It was too easy.
Goren had other thoughts. If the victim was killed because of the suspected infidelity, why was there no connection to the girlfriend? They traced her steps few nights preceding the crime. She was indeed meeting with other men at bars. One of the man, who gave her his phone number to the girl. When they checked his number, his number was 2 digits off. The girlfriend, while drunk, typed in the wrong phone number in her phone. As it turns out that the wrong phone number lead to the murder of an innocent man.
