    I have a friend who is dating a Muslim girl. They were living together for 4 years before they were engaged and THEN told her father they were together. He is going to Egypt to meet them and he IS going to become Muslim, no choice. He is not very religious so he does not care. They live in Egypt he lives in Canada. But If you have strong beliefs it might come back to haunt you.

    That said it is all based on the family and if they are Super conservative or not. I would take it on a case to case basis
