  i doubt anyone has read much of any of the 10 greatest thinkers. The list is full of the obvious greats and a few others but really aren't they known more by what has been said of them? How many people have read anything by Aristotle? Einstein?
  Just like the listing itself pushing for ranking w/o really knowing anything much about the source. And the other things is, would x be less a schmuck if he read Thucydides or y if he realized Ayn Rand was nothing but turgid nonsense?
