Two things:
1) I'm pretty sure that to be an artist you have to be certain about what that is. Too many people try to slide into is because of the vague lines around it and the ones that are wannabees generally haven't figured out where those lines are.
2) I propose we do away with the title artist unless a cultural consensus has defined a person's body of work "art". Even then I still think they should be called "painter" or "sculptor".
