Thanks guys I appreciate all your comments..
Right as for the difference between them. theres not much. in the first one.. focus is either on the top or the bottom frame. not both at the same time.
while in the second the menu dissapears and appears when you roll over it.
as for the purpose of this design. It really is to hold text and nothing more. but I will still experiment with visuals till I get it right.
Ill try and make the tree titles stand out a bit more as you suggest rasko... and maybe Ill rub a few visuals in there just for you :)
