Non-Corny Hawaii Wedding

an easy frist place to start, is to not host such an event on Oahu. while a great island, far too easy to get 'stuck' in what would most likely be a 'corn' wedding.
Kauai is wonderful, as is Maui and if you are able; Molokai is divine, but rural. I would strongly recommend renting a large estate/home whereby you could host the event and design the space that which you prefer; casual to extravagant. The one thing to consider, is there is almost no higher cost of living in the U.S. than Hawaii, and the more you go to lands' end therein, the more things will be, should they need to be brought there, or not "of" the island. But, that is one of its charms as well- it can be a richly decadent setting if you are intune with the materials, products, and talents around you. Local is key in any genuine event, and more so there.
