I had this 5 years ago and ended up in hospital. It's nothing to do with panic and only part to do with work, it's called atrial fibrilation - what I had was anyway. My heart was doing 195 at rest, irregular too. Scary stuff but very common, i was given heavy beta blockwers but stopped taking them. At the time I wasn't eating, had3 beers the night before and was getting about 3 hours sleep each night, just my body saying watch it !
