  I always remind people that the guy who created comic sans, is a highly respected type designer. He now works at Dalton Maag, one of the best type customisation/design practises:

  Vincent Connare joined Dalton Maag in the spring of 2001. An experienced type designer and font engineer, he had previously worked at Microsoft and at Agfa. His best-known designs form key parts of Microsoft products: Comic Sans, Trebuchet and Webdings. Vincent holds an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading."
