I think it's amazing that multi-touch technology hasn't yet become a pervasive technology, yet there are already people complaining about devices that don't have it. It's like complaining that your electric car isn't wimax-enabled.... or something like that :)
I do however feel your pain, as do most of the other people here who've had to help relatives with PCs. Wipe it and use the recovery CDs to start the thing from fresh with all the drivers.
