When I was young and we went for days out in the family car, my dad, who is pathologically obsessed with general security, would tell us to wind up the windows and switch the music off when we were still about ten miles from our destination. The reason being that people who were inclined to steal Ford Cortina radios would hear us approaching and be alerted to the loot on board unless we observed a ten mile safety radius.
We used to joke that he also used to switch his headlights on in July in readyness for the coming autumn. Which really is the point of this post.
A bit of autumn themed humour from my childhood for you.
No charge.
