"After Bill Clinton was elected in 1992, it was common for right-wingers to argue that he wasn't elected 'legitimately' because he'd won with less than 50 percent of the vote, thanks to Ross Perot.
Of course, you didn't hear that much after 2000, when Bush won the White House without even winning the popular vote.
Now that they're on the verge of getting an ass-kicking of historic proportions, they're warming up that familiar refrain. 'Obama doesn't have a mandate' they will say. They're already starting. The 'socialist' stuff is just the beginning. They will get into a froth soon enough."
