When I was back in UK I used to rent a 1960's flat. I would get mail for a Mrs SomethingOrOther and I had the thought that she probably dies there. Then a few months later as I was falling asleep I heard a voice say, "Is the old woman bothering you?"
Now, if it's been one word I would have passed it off as me falling asleep. There was always a feeling of a woman ushering you out of the bathroom.
