just to make atlasundead feel a little worse,
I was in El Salvador and Honduras a few years ago, and even the poorest street venders had cellphones...they used them for business. The folks that i hung out with had everything from local television to internet radio on their phones, that is better than most phones here.
we even got reception in the middle of the jungle, miles and miles from the nearest town.

- a phone that works off a series of Satellite rather than a cellphone tower. They can get reception anywhere.********
