Don't go near Boston unless you're filthy rich to begin with. You will live in a box, guaranteed. Cost of living in that city, compared w/ average income, is one of the worst in the country.
The house I own in STL would cost over three times as much in MA, and I *might* make 10K more per year. Not enough to cut the mustard.
