I was snow boarding in 8th grade and decided I'd try a grab off of a 5 ft. kicker. What I didn't know was that there was glare ice at the landing of said kicker. I landed the grab crooked, my board shot out from under me and I landed on my ass, then my head slammed on the ice. I fractured my tailbone in two and gave myself a concussion.
The real pain came later though, because being in middle school, I refused to carry a rubber doughnut around to sit on. After 5 minutes of sitting, excruciating pain would set in, only to be made worse if I tried to stand up in a normal way. I had to spread my legs wide apart and stand up with a pelvic thrust in order to keep my tail bone from screaming out in pain... in the end it probably would have been better for my reputation to just sit on a damn doughnut!
