good link modern, although I'm not sure about the case for using pictorial images over "corny icons"? seems the icons are a bit clearer? i'm probably thinking from a television point of view tho.
When the bbc changed it's icons for 3d realistic pictorial representations people were up in arms about it, but then people get upset every time the bbc changes anything...
