  My god, there is so much. everyone else has covered the classics so far, so let me interject the guy that got me into jazz - Thomas Chapin. Kinda somewhere where Eric Dolphy meets Pharoah Sanders. Unfortunately the guy passed away a while ago at 41 from cancer just as he was about to really start making waves, but the few times I caught him in NY it was magical.
