as akrokdesign said. also try to see how the client reacts. cause logo work can be time consuming if your client doesn't know what he wants.
ask him to provide you a complete brief and any infos about his company.Considering the price you can also propose him different options : logo only or other promotion materials which will slightly increase the bill.
