  6 months really is nothing. When my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I hooked back up (after 6 years or so) we had a long distance relationship for 8 months. It was hard at times, but the time flew by so fast. Long distance can actually be a good thing since you will be forced to talk on the phone alot, it will help you get to know each other on a deeper, more intellectual level...which imo is really important especially if you are considering spending your life with her (getting married). It is pretty amazing how deep you can get to know someone when all you can do is talk to each other. Also I think it can be a deciding factor as the distance thing will most likely end it for you if your not serious about each other.
