    hey laboboy.
    I know what you mean, the drip effect CAN be a pretty cool effect if done correctly. I was trying to recreate the effect myself in illustrator thinking that it should be pretty easy, but the way that I have found that gives me the best, most realistic effect is pray painting a piece of paper (wood, plastic, etc) and then scan it in (and then, depending on what you want to do with it ,streamline that bitch) it allows you to play with different lengths and types of drips way faster than if you were trying to recreate them on the computer. i hope this helps and i would be interested in finding out if anyone else has a different technique for creating that effect.
