Nowadays one good reason is because when you buy a Mac, you have 2 computers in one, OS X and Windows (if you really need to). So many people are switching for this very reason, and the iPod/iPhone thing.
I have owned only Macs in my life, never ever bought a PC and never will, I just don't like the idea to waste my money on crappy PCs. All the Macs I owned never failed, and I bought quite a few.
When I buy one, I keep it for 3/4 years, sometimes more, and then buy a new one. Hardware is solid, OS is incredible, and I'm totally fine spending a little more for this reason.I have to say that the opportunity to run Windows on my Mac has been very helpful when checking my website layouts.
