is paid maternity leave a canadian thing? she's not going to have time or energy to work with a newborn. those first 6-12 months are essential momma and baby time... going back to work shouldn't be an option.
hate to be a bummer in these exciting times for you, but kids are hella expensive... it only increases as they get older.
