$1400 for the Macbook in Canada. That is retarded.
All industry analysts were predicting (and recommending) that Apple needed to reduce entry-level pricing for it's Macbook line in order to remain competitive. 2008 has seen flattening sales for Apple's notebook line, and analysts have been screaming for price reductions. So what does Apple do, given the current economy? They INCREASE prices. A 13" Macbook, w/ tax, in Canada, will now cost you $1600. Add a mouse, and a carry-case, and you are close to $2000.
A lot of people looking to make the switch will have a hard time justifying spending that much, when they can simply pick-up a Dell for $699.
We know these machines are second-to-none, and I would never use anything but, but I'm not buying a Macbook now—not until Apple does the right thing...
