I watched an interesting program on the beeb last night about America and it's future by Simon Sharman... On iPlayer

Pretty interesting. Last night was about the opening of the 'west' and water and consumsion etc.
Showed Carter loosing to Regan based on the fact we should watch what we consume and blah blah. Funny how the issues have never gone away.
Anyway I was struck by, how outside of the cities the US seems pretty poor. Which got me thinking that there can't be long left to American hegemony, as China's cities are getting just as wealthy.
