  I have some small print on my invoices that states something like;
  Rights reserved to charge interest at base rate on delayed payment without prior agreed mitigating circumstances.

  Essentially just a warning that although things are platonic, you will do what you can to retrieve your money and be paid in a professional manner...I've had all the above before in terms of months and months of delays, companies out of business etc.
