I was approached to add some functionality to an existing website. We discussed what had to be done and I made a quote of 1100 euro (excl. vat).
They couldn't understand - they had some kid make the website for 750 euro and thought an update would be around 400 euro and asked me if there could be some negotiation about the price. I said no, and told them the only thing we could do was cut down the ammount of work. So we did until we ended up within the 400 euro budget.
So I did the work within a day and emailed them to test it. They were like:ARE YOU DONE ALREADY? And they explained that they had the website for about a year and were still waiting for the kid to finish up on some loose threads..moral: I guess you get what you pay for.
