yeh, our cats quite often bring in crickets, grasshoppers and mantisses, usually with something less than their full quota of legs..
Crickets don't do too well with only one major leg.
The cats let them get so far, then pounce and gnaw off one of the legs, or just pick it up in the mouth and take it somewhere else for some reason, put it down and repeat until it stops moving or they get bored, often vomiting up some of the remains at a later time.
