Hi.
So this will be my last post here as I don't want to get involved in any kind of long-winded hoo-har. I made the decision not to include typeface names so that it would become less of a type specimen book and more of a visual representation of what's going on in designers' minds type-wise. So not a reference book but a visual object in itself.
I understand why this might be frustrating to some people. But I thought that a big old book of font names would be pretty much a cop out. I felt like it doesn't really help the design dialog if everyone just starts using the same fonts as these big name designers. Maybe it's better that people can be influenced by the ideas or approach of the typefaces and then make their own decisions based on that?
So people may like that decision or not, people may like the book or not and I don't mind either way because everyone has opinions which are all equally valid.
But I am slightly saddened to read the above post that says about generating self-promotion. This was the last thing on my mind.
