"Today the United States Congress demonstrated that fear and "sweeteners" continue to be more important than public sentiment. That all the lessons that should have been learned from the AUMF, Supreme Ct appointments, FISA, Bankrupcy Bill, Patriot Act, etc. ... well, the public, not Congress, is the only one learning.
Oh, and impeachment is still off the table and hiding in an undisclosed location.
Today's move does nothing to restore confidence. It does everything to reinforce the perception that American capitalism is no longer about smart investing and hard work. Rather, the rule of law, at least until January 20th, is that he who has the gold makes all the rules. "
