    Yes, the higher the resolution the better. Try to get one with an intel processor too - they're blazing fast. Shoot for a comparable setup to this:

    2.4ghz intel core2 duo processor
    2gb ram
    160 gb hdd
    firewire / usb 2.0
    512mb ATI radeon video card
    15" screen

    I have a glossy screen - which I love, but some people will argue that the matte screen is better for color.

    This thing is blazing fast. It runs circles around my PC desktop that has dual processors. 2 yrs old and rarely hiccups with large indesign / photoshop / flash production work.
