Look, people should stop playing all these games. I'm going to let you in on the secret code for how to dress at an interview, and this will allow you into the secret club of success:
1) Wear a belt. Black, not brown. Zip up your pants.
2) Long sleeve blue shirt. Not white! No stripes! No pocket buttons! No french cuffs. Don't put anything in your pocket.
3) Black shoes. Brown shoes don't make it. Leather soles. Waxed laces. Clean and buffed, but not too shiny.
4) Gold watch, not stainless. Get rid of any cheap bracelets you have--those yellow things especially!
5) Trimmed, not bitten, fingernails.
6) Get a haircut about 5 to 7 days before the interview. No pomade, hairspray, wax, lacquer, weavings, braids, coloring.
7) Shave.
8) Be clean, but don't smell like cheap soap. Especially not Irish Spring.
9) No cologne!
10) Wool pleated pants, with sharp creases. Dark grey. Not black. Not shiny. Nothing in your pockets to clang around.
11) No hats, caps, bandanas, headbands, or bows.
12) Gold pinky ring on left hand.
13) Dark grey or Black jacket, with a bright plaid vest.
14) Big scarf.
15) No necklaces.
16) One large diamond or pearl earring.Dress exactly like this, and you're in.
