You can work in any country as an American, except Cuba. Libya, Haiti, North Korea, Sudan and Iraq and possibly Iran, but I would check that one. If you are going to marry someone you will automatically qualify for permanent residency and be able to work otherwise you will need official sponsorship from a Dutch company. I would check yourself if you are thinking about giving up your US Citizenship, but you can do it if you want. I've done a lot of this shit the last 5 years. ;)
