Not a lot out of design event calendars out there, that are very comprehensive anyway. For small stuff check meetup and going.com, for big conferences look at the calendar in the back of Communication Arts (may be on their site too). AIGA has mostly just aiga stuff but a good list that stays up to date none the less. Cooper-Hewitt is trying to put together a national calendar but it doesn't seem to be working out very well for them - running into the same problems most design sites with calendars do - too many events to keep up with, and therefore not comprehensive enough to draw visitors.
